Changes to NABERS announced to recognise Co-gen/Tri-gen
The NABERS National Steering Committee has announced amendments to the treatment of energy produced by co/tri-generation plants, following a review that included extensive industry engagement.
Two documents explaining the changes have been created:
- a fact sheet ‘New NABERS rules to recognise cogeneration or trigeneration systems’ and
- an FAQ document explaining some of the key changes
Director of Water and Energy Programs at the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage, Matthew Clark, announced that “Today’s decision will ensure that NABERS remains a fair and transparent tool for industry, and continues to report on both the energy efficiency and the environmental impact of buildings.”
“We would like to thank everyone who was involved in the review process. The consultation provided added important insights to this often complex issue.”
